Ontape restore failed with SQLCODE -27002

Troubleshooting


Problem

Ontape process fails to connect to the Informix server while performing restore and returns error -27002 (No connections are allowed in quiescent mode).

Symptom

You took an ontape backup on a lower version of Informix and performing ontape restore on a higher version. The restore is failing with following error:

Physical restore failed - could not fork server connection, SQLCODE -27002

Cause

There is a mismatch between Informix versions. You must use the same Informix version for backup and restore.
