Primary keys of tables in Oracle is not created in VNF_IDX tablespace

Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to use Jazz repository data warehouse with Oracle database in IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) 4.x result in the primary keys of some tables in Oracle being not created in the VNF_IDX tablespace.

Symptom

Index for primary keys are created under USERS tablespace.


Cause

SQL command of creating primary keys does not point to the correct tablespace.

This issue was identified as a product defect and logged under APAR PM91638 with workitem 269500 in Jazz Foundation.


Diagnosing the problem

You can find indexes via the following SQL

SELECT INDEX_NAME, TABLESPACE_NAME, OWNER FROM DBA_INDEXES WHERE TABLESPACE_NAME='USERS' AND OWNER IN ('RICALM');

Note: You can find multiple indexes created under USERS tablespace with different version and fixpack.


Resolving the problem

WORKAROUND:

You can move the indexes to VNF_IDX tablespace manually via the following command:

ALTER INDEX <index_name> REBUILD TABLESPACE VNF_IDX;

where <index_name> is the result of SQL command in "Diagnosing the problem" field for the INDEX_NAME column.
