Question & Answer
Question
How can I add an attribute to an ICON entity and display it for the number of Entity Connections the entity has?
Cause
In List Items for the Entity, there is a column for Entity Connections, which is the
number of other entities to which this entity is connected.
Answer
This can be accomplished by performing the following steps:
- Create a custom attribute:
- Edit Chart Properties -> Definitions folder -> Attribute classes -> New (create the new attribute for Entity Connections.)
- Combine the attributes:
- Tools -> Combine Attributes
- - Paste Value of Attributes Page = Entity Connections
- - Onto Value of Attribute = (the new attribute that was created in step 1)
- - Paste Behavior = "pasted value"
If new entities are added and linked to, rerun step 2 again to see the changes.
