Changing auxiliary VIPs in standby control from CLI does not affect the self-balancing auxiliary VIPs configuration

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Modifying auxiliary virtual IP addresses (VIPs) in a standby control configuration from the command line with the "ip-aux" command does not notify the change to the self-balancing configuration.

Symptom

Services cannot be accessed with newly added VIPs. Self-balancing status providers might show deleted VIPs.

Resolving the problem

After you change auxiliary VIP with the ip-aux command in interface mode, enter the following command sequence to notify the appliance of the configuration change:

    # admin-state disable
    # admin-state enable

Alternately, use the WebGUI to modify the auxiliary VIPs configuration. When you use the WebGUI, the self-balancing configuration is notified of VIP modifications.
