Question
How can you nest an execution environment within a node in IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA)?
Cause
Although it is possible to right click on an execution environment in the Project Explorer and add a node to the execution environment, it is unclear how you can add an execution environment to a node.

ANSWER
Follow these steps to add an execution environment to a node:
- Create a Topology model
- Add a Node, Execution Environment, and Deployment Diagram to the model
- Drag the Node onto the diagram
- Right click on the Node and select Filters > Show/Hide Compartments > All Compartments, so that all the Node's compartments will be visible
- Drag the Execution Environment from the Project Explorer to the Nested nodes compartment of the Node on the diagram
Result: The Execution Environment is now nested within the Node in the Project Explorer.
