Message below appears when attempting to open the Contributor Administration Console(CAC)

"An error has occurred while starting IBM Cognos Planning - Administrator.

Main form failed to initialize.

Error Details:

Unable to determine if the Planning Tables exist in Content Manager.
Please ensure the Planning Service is running."


An old Jhost7.exe process will be still running after restarting the 'IBM Cognos 10 Planning' service.

Diagnosing the problem

Stop the 'IBM Cognos 10 Planning' service and check to see if there are any JHost7.exe processes still running, if so kill them using Microsoft's Task Manager.

Resolving the problem

Follow the procedure below.

1) Stop the 'IBM Cognos 10 Planning' service.

2) Kill any leftover JHost7.exe process using Microsoft's Task Manager.

3) Restart the 'IBM Cognos 10 Planning' service.
