Local System account requirement for the SQL Server service for Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence databases

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Is Local System account required for the SQL Server Windows service for IBM Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence (RRDI) databases or can Network Service be used?

Answer

The Installing Rational Reporting for Development Intelligence section of the Information Center documentation under the topic of Planning for Microsoft SQL Server states that the SQL Server service must be set to log on as the Local System account.

A documentation enhancement has been submitted to clarify that the Local System account is only needed when running RRDI Setup to create the content store and data warehouse. Otherwise, running with network services is supported.
