Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to copy the attribute values on a classification for a rotating item, ordered via PO, results in the attribute values specified on the PO not copying to the asset's classification.
Symptom
1. Create a rotating item in Item Master and reference a classification on the Specifications tab. Use only a list of attributes but no numeric or alphanumeric values for any attributes.
2. Add the item to storeroom.
3. Go to PR and create a PR to order the newly created rotating item
On PR lines tab, Line Type=ITEM, reference your item
NOTE the classification is filled in
4. Go to the Specifications tab and fill in values for the attributes.
5. Approve and create PO from PR.
6. Go to purchase order and recall PO created from PR.
7. Check the specifications tab and note that all the values copied from PR exist on PO.
8. Approve PO.
9. Go to Receiving application, recall PO.
10. Choose Select Ordered Items.
11. Save.
12. Go to Select Action and choose Receive rotating items.
13. Auto-number and make note of asset no.
14. Save.
15. Go to Asset application and recall recently received asset.
16. Go to Specifications tab.
RESULT: No values were copied from the PO. None of the attributes have the values which were entered on the PO.
Cause
Upon creation of the asset the classification and attributes are copied from the Item Master record NOT the purchase order

Diagnosing The Problem
In the Item Master when you set a classification on the Specifications tab, if there are no current attribute values, add values to the attributes.
Follow the steps above.
When you go to the asset in the Asset application you will see the values on the Specifications tab from the Specifications tab for the record in Item Master.
Resolving The Problem
You are not able to enter the values on the purchase order and have them copy to the asset.
