SSIS package fails to launch when run as a job in TWS

Troubleshooting

Problem

SSIS package fails when run via Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) with the SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER 0x8007007E

Cause

SSIS packages cannot run if certain required variables are missing in the environment.

Resolving The Problem

1. Ensure that the STREAMLOGON user can run the SSIS packages by logging in as that user and launching the packages manually.

2. Log on as the STREAMLOGON user and run the "set" command on the command prompt. Record the values of the following variables:

  • CommonProgramFiles
  • CommonProgramFiles(x86)
  • CommonProgramW6432
  • ProgramData
  • ProgramFiles
  • ProgramFiles(x86)
  • ProgramW6432
NOTE: On 32-bit systems, some of the environment variables above may not be listed.

3. Edit either the FTA's jobmanrc or your STREAMLOGON user's (d)jobmanrc file and set the variables listed above to the values reported in step 2.
