Problem(Abstract)

Expected On date is incorrect on Order Summary screen in COM when order is created against future Inventory.

Symptom

Expected On date is incorrect on Order Summary screen in COM when order is created against future Inventory.


Cause

This is the expected product behavior with the current set up. The Order Summary screen maps the Expected Date to the MAX_DELIVERY and MIN_DELIVERY dates on the order. Now, these dates are updated on the order at the time of creation only when the Carrier service code is specified upfront.

Environment

- Create an order for an item for which inventory is available only on a future date.-
- While adding the item, the 'Expected On' date is shown correctly as the future date on the Add Item screen.
- Once the order is confirmed, the 'Expected On' date is displayed as current date and not as the date on the Order Summary screen.

Resolving the problem

To get the correct expected date on the Order Summary screen the carrier service code should be specified while creating the order. This can be done by selecting the Shipping Method on the Change Fulfillment Options screen in the Create Order flow. In case carrier service code is not specified, the dates are updated correctly once the order is scheduled.
