Labor With Negative Hours In Assignment Manager

Question & Answer

Question

Are negative hours allowed?

Answer

The Assignment Manager will allow for a Labor to be assigned more work than he is available for based on his calendar. If more time is entered than available for the labor calendar this will be displayed by a negative number as per below:

Here we can see that for the 5/24/13 Wilson has 20 hours more work than is available in his calendar for his availability.

Maximo will not display a warning advising that the Labor is now in the negative, this is per design and not a bug. Maximo was designed to allow the assignments to be flexible to allow easier work plan scheduling. If changes for this are wanted please open an Request For Enhancement requesting a message to be added to a future version.
