XML prologue version details can be 'lost' when copying data from one output card to another.

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

XML prologue version details can be 'lost' when copying data from one output card to another in a WebSphere® Tranformation Extender (WTX) map.

Symptom

XML prologue version details can be 'lost' when copying data from one output card to another.

Cause

This has been identified as a product defect under APAR PM88713

Environment

This issue can be seen if there are two or more output cards using the same XSD (in place of a Type Tree) and the data is copied from one (populated) card to another.

Diagnosing the problem

Example:

Output card #1 - fill in the XML prolog's version and encoding.
Output card #2 - references the prolog of output card #1, so it should produce the same output. But it does not.

Output card #1: version="1.0", encoding="UTF-8"
Output card #2: version="", encoding="UTF-8"

The version attribute is empty.
