Technote (FAQ)

Question

What are the steps for clearing the Identity Management Component (IMC) database in IBM Content Analytics with Enterprise Search (ICAwES)?

Cause

This procedure is to be used if the IMC database has become corrupt.

Answer

Follow the instructions below to remove the IMC database. It will be recreated automatically after ICAwES system is restarted.

  1. Stop the ICAwES system ('esadmin system stopall' and 'stopccl' commands).
  2. Backup the existing IMC database to some other directory by copying ES_NODE_ROOT\data\cloudscape\imc.
  3. Remove the IMC database by deleting the ES_NODE_ROOT\data\cloudscape\imc directory (including the "imc" directory). The IMC database will be recreated after ICAwES is restarted.
  4. Restart the ICAwES system ('startccl' and 'esadmin system startall').
