Generating the Labels for the Legacy Framework fails after upgrading to OpenPages 6.2.1

Problem(Abstract)

After upgrading to version OpenPages 6.2.1, the Legacy Reporting Framework fails while generating the labels. The status of the job will show either Partial Completion or Completed with Errors depending on how the job is run.

Diagnosing the problem

Confirm the description of the operation that failed is Generating Legacy Labels.

Resolving the problem

Work around for this issue is to use the crf-refersher.war from version 6.1.0.1. Steps for the work around are below:

  1. Log onto the reporting server.
  2. Stop the OpenPages Framework Model Generator service.
  3. Go to: ..\OpenPages\CommandCenter\apache-tomcat\webapps
  4. Rename the OP 6.2.1 version of the crf-refresher.war to crf-refresher.war.op621.
  5. Copy the crf-refresher.war from an OP 6.1.0.1 system into the webapps directory.
  6. Delete or rename the crf-refresher directory.
  7. Start the OpenPages Framework Model Generator service.
  8. Open a supported browser.
  9. Go to the OpenPages URL.
  10. Login with an administrator id.
  11. Using the navigation menu bar, go to: Administration -> Reporting Framework -> Generation.
  12. Click on the Update... button.
  13. Select the 'Framework Model' and 'Label' check boxes for the legacy framework.
  14. Click on the 'Submit' button.
  15. Once the framework generates successfully, restore the OP 6.2.1 version the crf-refresher.war file for the V6 framework.
  16. Stop the OpenPages Framework Model Generator service.
  17. Delete or rename the crf-refresher directory.
  18. Start the OpenPages Framework Model Generator service.
