In DataStage Designer, running a job using the Oracle connector and Transformer stage gives warning 'Schema field <name> in input data set 0 not present in design time information'

Troubleshooting

Problem

When running a job that has a Transformer stage that is linked to an Oracle Connector stage, the following warning is seen: Item #: 28 Event ID: 27 Timestamp: 2013-05-07 15:11:42 Type: Warning User Name: testuser Message Id: IIS-CONN-NGBR-00019 Message: ora_connector: Schema field Test_Col in input data set 0 not present in design time information. Diagnosing The Problem

In the Transformer stage, under stage properties, check if Runtime column propagation (RCP) is enabled for the link going to the Oracle Connector stage.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this issue:

  1. Double click on the Transformer stage
  2. Click on 'Stage Properties'
  3. Click on the 'Outputs' tab and in the 'Output name' field, use the drop down to choose the appropriate link name that is going to the Oracle connector stage
  4. Uncheck the box next to 'Runtime column propagation'
  5. Click 'OK' and 'OK' again in the Transformer stage panel to exit
  6. Save and compile the job
  7. Run the job

Note: Other stages may see the same warning occur. Please contact IBM Technical Support for further assistance.
