Late breaking updates to DataPower 6.0 documentation

The version 6.0 documentation for IBM DataPower is not the latest available information. This document covers late breaking updates that are not in IBM Knowledge Center. The documentation was last updated in August 2015.

The late breaking updates in this document apply to topics that are not in the DataPower version 6.0.0 documentation. To access IBM Knowledge Center for a specific product, click the appropriate link:

The corrections in the following sections apply to DataPower version 6.0 in IBM Knowledge Center.

Release notes
The following updates apply to the release notes documentation.
      Serviceability enhancement
Independent of the type and format of a log target, all messages in the log have a message ID.

      WebSphere Service Registry and Repository

Support is provided for the following IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository releases, minimum versions:
For more information about deprecated versions, see the Deprecated features technical note.

The features that DataPower appliances support depends on the version of WebSphere Service Registry and Repository that you use:

        Supports the following specifications:

      WebSphere Transformation Extender Industry Packs

In addition to the support for EDIFACT, HL7, and X12 Industry Packs, the DataPower appliance supports the following Industry Pack:

The Low Latency Appliance (XM) does not support Industry Packs.

      Supported standards and protocols

The "Management" standards do not state the Structure of Managed Information (SMI) version that represents the notation for SNMP MIBs.

The documentation has the following statement for connection power supplies to power sources.
Both power supplies must be connected to the same power source to prevent a difference in ground voltage between the two power supplies.

The clarified statement is as follows.
Each power supply can come from different power sources or from different circuits. The two sources must be properly grounded.

The documentation has the following statement for the replacement of Tier 2 CRU parts.

If installed by an IBM representative after your warranty has expired, you will be charged for the installation.

The clarified statement is as follows.
If installed by an IBM representative after your warranty expires and your hardware support agreement does not cover installation by an IBM representative, you will be charged for the installation.

The documentation has incorrect information about the LEDs for the 10 Gb SFP+ modules.

The documentation for the LEDs was reversed, and the color indicators for the speed LED were also reversed. The correct information is as follows.

The documentation has the following extraneous information about cables for 10 Gb SFP+ modules. Cables length depend on whether the SFP+ is a Copper Direct Attach twinaxial cable, short-reach transceiver, or long-reach transceiver. The appliance ships with 2 short-reach transceivers.

Do not use a fiber optic cable that is longer than 100 meters. The cables for small-form factor pluggable (SFP+) modules can be longer than 100 meters. See the product documentation for detailed information on SFP+ modules.

The documentation states that the 7198 (2426 1U) CRU part number for the hard disk drive is 96Y0485.

The correct CRU part number is 97Y0485.

The "Determining firmware versions to download" topic provides incorrect model details for the Integration Blade XI50B. xib is the correct model designation in an XI50B firmware image. The following information is correct:
Indicates a image for XI50B appliances with support for the following features:

The steps in the "Exporting a configuration" topic, starting with step 13, are incorrect. The corrected procedure, starting with step 13, is as follows.
      1. Click Next. When the backup completes, the file is in the export: directory.
      2. Optional: Click Download. The Import Configuration utility requires that the export file is on your workstation.
      3. Click Done.

When you shutdown the appliance and the mode is halt, the documentation incorrectly states that the appliance, by default, restarts after 20 minutes. When you run this action or use the shutdown halt command, the appliance shuts down but the power to the appliance remains on.

The use of an LDAP connection pool does not apply to RBM or the CRL update policy.

Secure communication
The documentation incorrectly states that the tickets that the Kerberos KDC server caches are per client principal.
The server caches tickets per owner principal.

The documentation for the ciphers property for cryptographic profiles is incomplete.

Cryptographic profiles can control TLS version 1.2 cipher suites. Note that here are no cipher suites specific to TLS version 1.1.

The documentation for the pwd-history command values in RBM Settings is reversed.
The correct information is as follows.
      • on - Prevents the reuse of recent passwords.
      • off - Allows the reuse of recent passwords. This setting is the default value.

Extension elements and functions
The url-open element for WebSphere MQ is missing the following documentation for the Model query parameter.
When true, this value instructs the DataPower service to connect to the request queue and use the dynamic, temporary Model queue that is defined by the ReplyQueue value to get the response. When the response is received, the connection to the temporary queue is closed.

The url-open element for IMS Connect has incorrect values for the ExitID parameter. The correct values use asterisks. The supported values are *SAMPLE* or *SAMPL1*.

IBM License Metric Tool
The license agent for the IBM License Metric Tool is available for only virtual editions of DataPower products. The command reference incorrectly documents that these commands are available for all products.

When you define the address from the ILMT server, you must specify the IP address, not the DNS host name, of this server.

Interoperability Test Service
The start-up configuration for an appliance contains errors that the files for the iop-mgmt-key key and the iop-mgmt-cert certificate are unreadable. This key-certificate pair is for the identification credentials of the disabled Interoperability Test Service. IBM does not provide these files. You must create these files for secure communication.
  • The iop-mgmt-key key expects the dtxkey.pem file in the cert: directory.
  • The iop-mgmt-cert certificate expects the dtxcert.der file in the cert: directory.

Although the documentation states that all appliances include predefined patterns, only 7198 and 7199 appliances contain predefined patterns. Click the product-specific link to view the uncorrected original topic: XS XG XI XB XM

IP multicast
The following corrections apply to the documentation for the IP multicast.
    • The interface command in IP multicast mode states that the address parameter specifies the local IP address or host alias of the Ethernet interface. In addition, you can specify a host name in the address parameter.

Peer group
The following corrections apply to the documentation for the url command in Peer group mode.
    • The documentation states that the member parameter identifies a peer group member by a URL containing an IP address or host alias, and a port. In addition, the member parameter can specify a host name.

Web management interfaces
The "Accessing Configuration Pattern Console" topic states that you must specify an explicit URL. To access the Configuration Pattern Console, use the following procedure:
      1. In the navigation pane, click Pattern Console. The Configuration Pattern Console opens in a new tab or window.
Reminder: When you have multiple WebGUI or Configuration Pattern Console sessions open, you are logged out of all sessions when you log out of any session.
