"GH Tester cannot be launched as no valid licence key is available!" when entering valid license key

Troubleshooting

Problem

When you apply the product license key for Green Hat Software GH Tester and GH Performance Tester, you can run the program only once.

Symptom

You start the program and apply a valid product licence key. Subsequent executions request for the license key again. You can run the program successfully but the next time you run the program the license is invalid again.

Cause

The installation procedure saves the license key to a file in the GH Tester installation area. The user permissions are such that you cannot update files there. This causes that you cannot find the license key on subsequent executions. This situation mostly occurs on systems where many users share one installation.

Resolving The Problem

The license file ghTesterLicence.dat location is in the top-level GH Tester installation directory. Consider using one of the following options A and B.

Option A

    1. Execute the program as a user with write permissions to this file and enter the licence key.

    2. Exit the program. Now the key is permanently saved for other users.

Option B

      Request your system administrator to create or edit ghTesterLicence.dat to add the key. The format of this file is as follows:

       <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><licence key="AA..license key here..BB"/>
