Script playback from RFT fails to input text into the textbox

Technote (troubleshooting)


Problem(Abstract)

Attempt to playback the recorded script from IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) fails to input text into the textbox of the AUT (application under test).

Symptom

During playback setText() and inputchars() when used for a textbox fails to input characters into the textbox.

Example code :

<<object>>.setText() and <<object>>.inputchars()

Cause

This issue was identified as a product defect and logged under APAR PM87907.

Resolving the problem

WORKAROUND:

Use the below sample code instead of using <<object>>.setText() or <<object>>.inputchars():
