WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances firmware 5.0.0.7 now available for new 7199/7198/4195 appliances purchased through Passport Advantage only

Abstract

This firmware version only applies to new 7198, 7199 and 4195 appliances purchased using Passport Advantage as the new combined 2426 machine type and addresses an issue whereby all inactive licenses are deleted after a boot reflash/reinitialize operation is performed on the appliance.

This firmware release only applies to new 7198, 7199 and 4195 appliances that were purchased through Passport Advantage and includes the fix for APAR IC91478.
Existing appliances (not purchased through Passport Advantage) are not impacted by this problem.

PROBLEM:
If a boot reflash/reinitialize operation is performed on an appliance, all inactive license files will be deleted. This affects manufacturing of appliances for Passport Advantage.

If this issue has been encountered and inactive licenses have been deleted and a subsequent purchase of a new license feature upgrade is made using Passport Advantage, you will need to contact IBM DataPower support to install your new license feature.
