Abstract

When installing 6.1.0.1-TIV-BSM-IF0003 the required updates to the TBSM database schema may be skipped, in certain circumstances.

6.1.0.1-TIV-BSM-IF0003 has been refreshed to fix this error.

Toolkit Database Schema Updates for 6.1.0.1-TIV-BSM-IF0003 are not run under the following conditions

1. Toolkit 610 FP1 is pre-installed.
2. Toolkit 610 IF3 is installed with silent install (regardless of FP level).
3. Any test fix which creates the stage_servicetree table has been installed, i.e. IV27028.

APAR IV41041 has been opened to address this issue.

APAR Abstract
IF3 DOESN'T RUN THE SETDBSCHEMA.SH WHEN THE TBSM DATABASE IS AT FP1

Error seen in toolkit logs if IF3 Toolkit Schema Updates are missing:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
com.ibm.tbsm.cltools.service.ASIComponentNamingGuid getData_db [2]
GTMCL5284I: UPDATE stagep_componentNaming SET name=TBSMUDF.toGUID(namestring) WHERE name is null and namestring is not null.

How to verify if the IF3 Toolkit Schema Updates are installed:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check if column NAMESTRING on TABLE table TBSMSA1A.stagep_componentNaming allows nulls.
If the column allows nulls then the database schema is up to date. If not, then the schema updates are outstanding.

Fix
-----
All files for 6.1.0.1-TIV-BSM-IF0003 have been refreshed to include IV41041 and are available on Fix Central. The Discovery Library can be re-installed to ensure the database schema is up to date. Alternatively the database schema commands can be run manually (without re-installing IF3). See Manual Workaround below.

Manual Workaround (to avoid re-installing IF3)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
A workaround is to manually run the schema updates by providing the following options to setdbschema command
1. setdbschema -U <db user> -P <db password> -f upd6101
2. setdbschema -U <db user> -P <db password> -f 2
3. setdbschema -U <db user> -P <db password> -f t
4. setdbschema -U <db user> -P <db password> -f v
