TADDM install user limitation

Preventive Service Planning

Abstract

Document the fact that a Windows DOMAIN user cannot install TADDM.

Content

Although the documentation advises: "You must be logged in to an account with administrator privileges to install TADDM.", the fact that DB2 can be installed using a Domain administrator
may lead customer's to believe they can install TADDM using the same domain admin account.

TADDM must be installed using a local "administrator" account that is a member of the local Administrators group. TADDM database creation may be run separately as a Windows Domain account; however, TADDM server installation must be initiated by the local administrator level account.
