Specify a value for bandwidth consumption per user in RPT-SAP test script

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Can you specify a value for bandwidth consumption per user while executing a IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) SAP extension test script?

Cause

Find a criteria while planning the environment based on the user load on the SAP server.

Answer

No. You cannot specify a value for bandwidth consumption per user while executing an RPT SAP extension test script.

There is no standard bandwidth consumption per user for SAP which can be a predefined value as any application is composed of transactions and they would vary for each application.

The execution cycle for SAP transaction includes a server round trip and compilation of ABAP code on the back end in case its not available in the server cache and then it is returned to the SAP GUI.

So the size in KBs of what gets returned depends on the response size.
