Build agent for Dependency Build on iSeries uses 90% CPU
The IBM Rational Team Concert Build Agent job shows very high CPU usage (for example 90%) resulting in slow response time for interactive users.
You have installed the Rational Build Agent, and started the agent using startbfa.sh to server builds from Rational Team Concert.
When a build request is made, and while this agent performs the build, the CPU usage for the agent job becomes very high and other interactive user experience slow response.
The build agent job is started with a run priority equivalent to that for an interactive user.
Diagnosing the problem
If slow response time is experienced by interactive users, check the CPU being used by the build agent job. If the CPU usage is high, check the run priority setting. The typical priority is 20 for interactive users and 50 or higher for batch jobs.
Resolving the problem
If the run priority setting is 20, set it to 50 or higher.
