IBM Tivoli Network Manager Transmission Edition 5.6
Whenever we select NE Management tab in Network Manager (TN) Admin, it
fails to open it and throws the following Error.
Reason: For input string: "A"
Refer to the log $NCHOME/log/precisiontn/nmtn_server.log and nmtn_gui.
log for details.
Resolving the problem
Previously, the customer informed us that they have upgraded their DB2
v9.5 Fix Pack 10. We requested them to upgrade their DB2 JDBC driver.
Two copies of the DB2 JDBC driver needs to be updated:
The user can issue the following command to check the version of the DB2
driver, example as below:
$ java -cp ./db2jcc.jar com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Jcc -version
IBM DB2 JDBC Universal Driver Architecture 3.64.104
The driver version should correspond with the DB2 database version,
which can viewed here:
Please advise the customer to check the version of their DB2 driver. If
the version is not correct, these are the instructions to install the
1) The customer should visit
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21363866 and download
the IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC for the appropriate fix pack
2) Extract and locate the newer version of the file db2jcc.jar
3) Create a backup of the following files:
4) Copy over the newer db2cc.jar to
5) Restart the NGF server process.
6) Restart the nmtn_server process
