Resolving the problem

The possible reasons for the above error message to be displayed when
the clients are trying to connect to the Synergy server are:

• When the number of users logging into the servers are higher than what has been configured
• When the time-out defined in the TDSconfiguration.xml files has been exceeded

You can decrease the possibility of this happens by increasing this time-out setting as stated below.
The file you will need to change is the TDSConfiguration.xml file. It is located a path similar to the one below.
1. Open the TDSConfiguration.xml file located in paths similar to the ones below:
Windows: C:\Program
Files\IBM\Rational\Synergy\7.1\etc\TDSConfiguration.xml
Unix: $CCM_HOME/etc/TDSConfiguration.xml
2. Edit the following line below.
BEFORE:

2000

AFTER:

10000

3. Save the configuration file.
Note: The values mentioned above may need to be increased depending on your configuration.
4. Restart the Rational Synergy CCM_SERVER daemon or service.
> ccm_server -stop
> ccm_server -start

NOTE: This would need a down time since all the users will be disconnected from the server when the CCM_SERVER is restarted.
5. Further you will also need to edit the contents of the "ccm.server.properties" file on the server located at $CCM_HOME/etc directory.

By default the settings will be:

#===============================================
# Web server settings
#===============================================
cm.webserver.persistent.sessions= 3
cm.webserver.max.sessions= 10
cm.webserver.parallel.startups= 2
*************************************

Change them to:

#===============================================
# Web server settings
#===============================================
cm.webserver.persistent.sessions= 4
cm.webserver.max.sessions= 12
cm.webserver.parallel.startups= 5
**************************************
6. Once done you will have to restart the Synergy Daemons.
> ccm_stop_daemons
> ccm_start_daemons

NOTE: This would need a down time since all the users will be
disconnected from the server when the daemons are restarted.
