HSM reconcile process verification
This document provides additional information on HSM Windows reconcile process and how to verify if/when it runs.
Resolving the problem
The HSM reconciliation process synchronizes your file system with the Tivoli Storage Manager server by logging orphan stubs and by deleting obsolete copies of files. The list of orphan files is logged in the following default file:
To find out if the reconciliation process is currently running, select "Tools\Reconciliation..." from the HSM GUI
and verify the status. For example :
In this case, it shows a status of "Not running" which indicates that the reconciliation process is not running at that moment. The same information can be obtained with the HSM command line. Example:
C:\Program Files\Tivoli\TSM\hsmclient>dsmhsmclc.exe query
