Probe for Huawei U2000 (Web Service) executing command when in PA

Technote (FAQ)

Question

How to execute commands when probe(Huawei 2000) is running under PA., with an example

Cause

n/a

Answer

One can do so using CLI

To use the CLI, one must use the CommandPort property in the properties file to specify a port through which commands will be sent.
As the CLI is based on Telnet connections, one can connect to the probe from anywhere by creating desktop tools to open a Telnet connection, send a command, and then to close the connection. This means that simple scripts can be set up to allow users to acknowledge selected events from the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus event list.
.
1) Open Command Prompt
2) Run 'telnet <probehost> <CommandPort >'
3) Execute CLI commands,
for example: 'acknowledgeAlarm 20067 some_user'
