Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When Workplace/Workplace XT attempts to connect to Content Engine, eventually the log in will fail and CORBA.NO_PERMISSION LDAP error code 49 exception errors are printed in the WebSphere SystemOut logs.

Symptom

Workplace/Workplace XT cannot log in to Content Engine via the standard log in prompt. CORBA.NO_PERMISSION LDAP error code 49 errors are seen in the SystemOut log.

Cause

In the WebSphere admin console, LTPA was disabled under Security > Global Security > RMI/IIOP security > CSIv2 inbound communications.

Diagnosing the problem

When Workplace/Workplace XT cannot log in, CORBA.NO_PERMISSION LDAP error code 49 errors with different LDAP response codes will be seen in the SystemOut log (775, 52e, etc). These are usually LDAP responses saying the account is locked or that the password has expired. Neither is actually true.

Resolving the problem

Enable LTPA via the WebSphere administrative console under Security > Global Security > RMI/IIOP security > CSIv2 inbound communications.
