db2se_enable_db command writes "Redundant DFP initialization" into db2diag.log

Problem(Abstract)

db2se enable_db will put the following message in db2diag.log file:

Redundant DFP initialization attempted. In general this is an error which may result in memory leak.

Symptom

warning message in db2diag.log file


Cause

db2se_enable_db for spatial extender calls the import utility from within a unfenced UDF.

Diagnosing the problem

when enableing database for spatial extender the following warning message will be written into the db2diag.log file:

FUNCTION: DB2 UDB, oper system services, sqloDFPInit, probe:10
DATA #1 : String, 250 bytes
Redundant DFP initialization attempted. In general this is an error which may result in memory leak. The exception is when the attempt is made within import utility being called from a nonfenced UDF. Otherwise please contact IBM technical support!
DATA #2 : Pointer, 8 bytes

Resolving the problem

No action is needed. db2se enable_db falls within the exception
