Problem(Abstract)

You attempt to start WebSphere Process Server. However, the product fails to start.

Symptom

You can see the following error in the startServer.log file:

ADMU3007E: Exception com.ibm.ws.process.exception.ProcessOpException:
com.ibm.ws.process.exception.ProcessOpException: Error creating new
process. 079: Value too large for defined data type.


Cause

The Oracle Solaris Java™ Development Kit cannot rotate the native JVM log files.


Resolving the problem

To resolve this issue, you need to reduce the size of the native log file (native_stdout.log). Complete the following steps:

  1. Stop the server.

  2. Rename the native_stdout.log file. For example, rename it native_stdout1.log

  3. Restart the server.
