Question

How do you change the maintenance level of the ITCAM Agent for WebSphere Applications data collector on a remote system?

Answer

You cannot use the tacmd commands on the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server host to change the maintenance level of the ITCAM Agent for WebSphere Applications data collector remotely.

Instead, you can use Tivoli Enterprise Portal to change the maintenance level of the data collector remotely. Note that the OS agent must be running on the remote server.

To change the maintenance level of the data collector, complete the following steps:

1. In the Tivoli Enterprise Portal, select the WebSphere Agent node of this agent in the Navigator window. Right click it, and select Configure. The Managed System Configuration window is displayed.

2. Select the option Change the maintenance level of Data Collectors and follow the steps in "Changing Data Collector maintenance level" in the ITCAM Agent for WebSphere Applications Installation and Configuration Guide.
