Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to create a new password using the IBM Rational License Key Center Password Finder results in error "the information that you submitted is not valid for this password finder".

Symptom

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Access the Rational License Key Center

  2. Click "Forgot your password?"

  3. Enter an email address

  4. Check email inbox for password finder email

  5. Click the link provided in the email

  6. Enter a new password

  7. Click OK


Expected result: Password accepted

Actual Result: The password creation fails with the error: "The information that you submitted is not valid for this password finder"

Cause

The Rational License Key Center password requires a combination of letters or numbers.

Resolving the problem

To resolve the error, enter a password which contains both numbers and letters.
