Technote (FAQ)

Question

Set a SLIP for a Tivoli Storage Manager server abend situation to collect a dump of the server address space.

Answer

Use the z/OS system command SLIP to collect a dump of a z/OS Tivoli Storage Manager server when a specific condition is recognized. If the completion code associated with the condition is unknown, review the JOBLOG to obtain the completion code and then submit the following z/OS system command:

    slip set,jobname=<JOBNAME>,a=svcd,comp=<ABENDCODE>,
    sd=(lpa,csa,allnuc,grsq,lsqa,swa,psa,sqa,trt,rgn,sum),end

<JOBNAME> - Is to be replaced with the name of the job associated with theTivoli Storage Manager server being monitored..
<ABENDCODE> - Is to be replaced by the completion code for which a dump is to be created.

For example:

   slip set,jobname=TSM556A,a=svcd,comp=878,
  sd=(lpa,csa,allnuc,grsq,lsqa,swa,psa,sqa,trt,rgn,sum),end
