Problem(Abstract)

A list of items to provide to IBM Support.

Resolving the problem

Provide the following information:

Notes on DCI Security Checker JSP file:

Clients:
Request the JSP file (dci731_v4.jsp or higher) from Support.

Support:
The JSP file is available at L3's Wiki Page.

1. Set DCI Security trace level to FINEST in WEBGUI_HOME/etc/dci-common/security/dci-security.properties

security.log.level=FINEST

2. Enable VMM trace via the WebSphere Administration Console

Go to Troubleshooting > Logs and Trace > server1 > Change Log Detail Levels > Configuration
Append the following trace settings and save the changes
com.ibm.ws.security.*=all:com.ibm.websphere.wim.*=all:com.ibm.wsspi.wim.*=all:com.ibm.ws.wim.*=all

3. Stop TIP

4. Delete the logs in the following directories:

TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/logs/ncw
TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/logs/server1
TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/logs/dci-common/OMNIbusWebGUI

5. Place dci731_v4.jsp at TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/installedApps/TIPCell/isc.ear/OMNIbusWebGUI.war.

6. Start TIP

7. Run the jsp and save output

https://<host>:16311/ibm/console/webtop/dci731_v4.jsp

8. Run the following queries from nco_sql and collect outputs:

select UserName, UserID from security.users
select Name,UID,Type from master.names
select GroupName,GroupID from security.groups
select GroupID,UserID from security.group_members order by GroupID,UserID
SELECT UserName,UserID FROM security.users WHERE UserID IN (SELECT UserID FROM security.group_members WHERE GroupID IN (SELECT GroupID FROM security.groups WHERE GroupName = 'vmmusers'))
select UID, HasRestriction, Restrict1, Restrict2, Restrict3, Restrict4, AllowISQL from master.profiles
select * from catalog.connections
select TriggerName, GroupName, TriggerKind, IsEnabled, TriggerPriority from catalog.triggers where TriggerName='webtop_compatibility'

9. Check if LDAP/VMM users who are assigned ncw_admin/ncw_user role are listed in the User Preferences page (TIP > Settings > User Preferences for Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Web GUI)

10. Gather

- TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/logs

- WEBGUI_HOME/waapi/log

- WEBGUI_HOME/etc/server.init, WEBGUI_HOME/etc/datasources/ncwDataSourceDefinitions.xml

- WEBGUI_HOME/etc/dci-common/security/dci-security.properties

- TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/config/cells/TIPCell/wim/config/wimconfig.xml

- Zip of TIPHOME/profiles/TIPProfile/config/cells/TIPCell/commonauthz/policy/href_c_TIPCell/isc/OMNIbusWebGUI.war

- Timestamp when TIP is restarted from step 6

- Output of dci731_v4.jsp from step 7

- Output of step 8

- Result from step 9
