IBM Connections metrics - "group by" department is not displaying correctly

Technote (troubleshooting)


Problem

When using IBM Connections metrics, viewing the "group by" option, and filtering by department, the display is incorrect.

Symptom

Access IBM Connections metrics application and click on the "people" metrics on the left. Select "department" from the "group by" drop down. The displayed "Number of unique authenticated visitors" graph will display "Unknown 100%"

Open the Metrics configuration file, metrics-config.xml, and change this line:

<mapping metricsName="attribute2" profilesName="com.ibm.snx_profiles.base.orgId" />

to

<mapping metricsName="attribute2" profilesName="com.ibm.snx_profiles.base.deptNumber" />

Then save all changes and restart the server on which Metrics is deployed.
