Deleting inactive SystemState objects

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Is it possible to delete inactive SystemState objects on the Tivoli Storage Manager server?

Answer

It is not possible to delete individual inactive SystemState objects on the Tivoli Storage Manager Server.

Instead, a Tivoli Storage Manager administrator could either change the copygroup settings to retain fewer versions or use an include.systemstate statement on the Tivoli Storage Manager Client. Refer to the Tivoli Storage Manager client manual for more details on this option.

Note1: See apar IC96661 for clarification on the syntax for this option.

Note2: Changing the copygroup settings will affect all the objects on the Tivoli Storage Manager Server that are bound to the management class.
