Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to launch IBM Rational DOORS with dongle license keys results in the error "Flexnet error -9,57 invalid host".
Symptom
The full error message:
License Error : Invalid Host.
The hostid of this system does not match the hostid specified in the license file,
Feature: DOORS
Hostid: FLEXID=123456789
License path: C:\Program files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.4\License\License.dat;
FLEXnet Licensing error:-9,57

Cause
This issue was identified as a product defect and logged under APAR PM84150.
Resolving The Problem
WORKAROUNDS:
- Use one of the following types of license keys:
- node locked ( IBM Rational DOORS AUTH USER LIC)
- floating (IBM Rational DOORS FLOATING LIC)
- If you do not have floating or node locked license keys for IBM Rational DOORS available, contact IBM Rational licensing support team for temporary license keys
You may open a New PMR via the SR tool:
The IBM Service Request application will have to be used instead.
As of October 1, 2014, IBM Rational no longer accepts PMR creation requests via email.
For EMEA the same will apply as of January 1, 2015
AP has the change-over planned for April 1, 2015
PLEASE NOTE: This change only affects our clients ability to submit new support requests via email to Rational Support .
Our clients will still be able to correspond with our Rational Support staff via the support email address once a PMR has been created,
The PMR number must be mentioned in the subject line of your email.
For an SR User to submit a new Licensing related support request in the IBM Service Request application he will need to deselect "Show entitled products only" and then enter as keyword "Rational license problem"
