Troubleshooting


Problem

Error reading e-mail in listener and repeated messages to users.

Diagnosing The Problem

Failed to retrieve e-mail for address tivolibm@maximo.com and mail server localhost . Please review the Maximo log file for more details.
You may need to contact the mail server administrator for error resolution.

Incoming e-mail details - Sender E-mail Address: test1@maximo.com
Subject: FW: test 1.

Resolving The Problem

The Java Exception errors were generated from the JDK.

As per development, Oracle's default Java distribution does not support the UTF-7 character set.
This is not considered a defect because it is not a Maximo problem but a limitation on the JDK and server.


Java does not support 7 bit encoding by default. The only choice is UTF-8.
