Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource adding an association from a project area

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to add an association to an IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) Design Manager (DM) project from an IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) project area results in the error: Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource.

Symptom

Using Microsoft Internet Explorer, the following error is displayed:

    The full error message is as follows:

    Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource:
    Unable to load URL:
    /jts/proxy?uri=https://<host>:<port>/jazz/oslc/workitems/catalog&dojo.preventCache=1307474944648, Status: 500


Using Mozilla Firefox, the following error will be displayed:

    The full error message is as follows:

    Failed to read matching artifact container catalog resource:
    Unable to load URL:
    /jts/proxy?uri=https://<host>:<port>/jazz/oslc_am, Status: 500


Cause


This error happens if you do not have a matching consumer information (key and secret) between CCM and DM in the JTS Consumers (inbound) and CCM Friends (outbound)

Environment

IBM Rational Software Architect Design Manager 4.0.x
IBM Collaborative LifeCycle Management 4.0.x

Resolving The Problem


Verify the consumer information (Key and Secret) between the CCM and DM in the JTS inbound and CCM outbound are matching.


To verify that the key information is matching:

  1. Navigate to the JTS Cosumers (Inbound) information page: https://HostName:PortNumber/jts/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.ad…

  2. Note the CCM rootservices consumer key.

  3. Navigate to the CCM Friends (outbound) information page: https://HostName:PortNumber/ccm/admin#action=com.ibm.team.repository.ad…

  4. Check that the correspondent DM rootservices OAuth Consumer Key exists.

  5. Check that they are using the same Secret.


If you did not find any corresponding key either in the Consumers (Outbound) or the Friends (Inbound), then you need to add them manually


    Add a Friend by clicking on the Add... button on the right of the Friends List section.
    The Add Friend wizard will guide you through the procedure:



    A new entry will appear in the JTS Consumers (Inbound) page corresponding to the friends you have added.

You should now be able to add the DM project association to your CCM project area.
