Technote (FAQ)
Question
Is it possible to install a new instance of IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) or IBM Rational Software Architect for Websphere Software (RSA4WS) by copying the "SDP" and "SDPShared" directories of a working RSA or RSA4WS instance and pasting them onto another machine?
Cause
You may want to easily copy the configuration of an installation without having to go through the entire installation process and to manually specify an identical configuration.
Answer
Copying and pasting the SDP and SDPShared directories of one instance of RSA or RSA4WS to install another instance of the product is not supported.
To install several identical copies of RSA or RSA4WS, you should create a responsefile for IBM Installation Manager and use it for each installation. See the Related information section below for more details.
