Best practices to purge soft deleted objects in Rational DOORS-ClearQuest integration setup

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What are the best practices to purge soft deleted objects in IBM Rational DOORS-ClearQuest integration setup?

Cause

Considerations for purging soft deleted objects in the Rational DOORS module in a Rational DOORS-ClearQuest integration.

Answer

The Rational DOORS-ClearQuest integration fully supports purging objects as part of a Requirements Change Request (RCR).

The best practice depends on your requirement. If you need a record of the objects being purged for audit purposes then the best practice is to purge the objects with the integration ON.

If you don't need a record of the objects being purged then the fastest and easiest way is to disable the integration on the module, purge all the objects, and then enable the integration again.
