Finding SAP IDocs by TID

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

How to find an IDoc in SAP that has been sent from IBM Sterling B2B Integrator?

Symptom

How to find an IDoc in SAP that has been sent from IBM Sterling B2B Integrator ?

Cause

When an IDoc is sent via ALE from IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (ISBI) to SAP a TID (Transaction ID) is returned from SAP.

The TID can be found in the sap.log.
In the SAP System, the IDocs are allocated a DOCNUM (Document Number). The TID and DOCNUM are different numbers and it may be necessary to find the DOCNUM using the TID number

Resolving the problem

In Sap, call the Function Module INBOUND_IDOCS_FOR_TID and specify the TID that can be found in the sap.log in ISBI. This Function Module does exist from SAP Kernel Version 7 and later versions.
