Warning message when using DM integration with LotusNotes

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

A security warning message is shown when LotusNotes is used for the first time after installing IBM Document Manager (DM) application integration.

Symptom

A security warning is shown regarding a program signed by "GPS Notes Integration/GPS" when starting LotusNotes. This warning message is part of LotusNotes and states that there is an external program trying to get access to internal LotusNotes databases.

Cause

All applications from DM are signed by "GPS Notes Integration/GPS", however this signer is not known to LotusNotes, hence the security warning message.

Resolving the problem

Once DM application integration is installed and configured in the system, the signer can be trusted. On the other hand, if there is no DM application integration installed and there is no need for exchange between DM and LotusNotes, there would be no need for trusting the signer.
