Troubleshooting
Problem
When trying to create a new InfoSphere DataStage project you get the error: Unable to confirm the JVM can be loaded into the DataStage Server process because running 'DSR_CREATE.PROJECT.B TestJVM' failed. Exit code was 0
Cause
This error is an indication that the code which configures and loads CodeMesh cannot find the path to C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\lib\cpp. There is a known issue whereby if the case of ASBNode is changed in the path environment variable after install, then project creation can fail with this error. One scenario known to change the case of the path environment variable is installing DB2 Connect Server after InfoSphere Information Server has been installed.
For example, suppose after InfoSphere Information Server installation, the path environment variable contained:
C:\IBM\InformationServer\Server\DSComponents\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\MKS Toolkit\mksnt;C:\PROGRA~2\MKSTOO~1\bin64;C:\PROGRA~2\MKSTOO~1\bin;C:\PROGRA~2\MKSTOO~1\bin\X11;C:\PROGRA~2\MKSTOO~1\mksnt;C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\apps\jre\bin\classic;C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\lib\cpp;C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\apps\proxy\cpp\vc60\MT_dll\bin;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0";C:\Windows/SysWOW64
Then, installing DB2 Connect Server changes the path environment variable to:
c:\ibm\informationserver\server\dscomponents\bin;c:\program files (x86)\mks toolkit\mksnt;c:\progra~2\mkstoo~1\bin64;c:\progra~2\mkstoo~1\bin;c:\progra~2\mkstoo~1\bin\x11;c:\progra~2\mkstoo~1\mksnt;c:\ibm\informationserver\asbnode\apps\jre\bin\classic;c:\ibm\informationserver\asbnode\lib\cpp;c:\ibm\informationserver\asbnode\apps\proxy\cpp\vc60\mt_dll\bin;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C :\Windows\system32\wbem;C:\Windows\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0";c:\windows/syswow64
This issue has also been observed when installing the 64 bit version of IBM DB2 10.1 Enterprise Server Edition after InfoSphere Information Server has been installed, on both the Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 operating systems.
Resolving The Problem
Change the case of asbnode back to its original value of ASBNode
