Resolving object count mismatch problems with imports of logical models.

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When you use InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager to import logical models, if the metadata contains duplicate relationships and relationship ends, objects of these types might be deleted when you reimport. When this happens, there are fewer such objects than expected when you preview the reimport.

Symptom

On reimport, the preview in InfoSphere Metadata Asset Manager shows that the deleted object count for relationships and relationship ends is not zero, while the created object count for these types is zero.

Cause

Importing logical models that contain duplicate relationships and relationship ends can lead to this problem.

Resolving the problem

Fix the problem by renaming the duplicate relationships and relationship ends in the source tool, and then reimporting them.

In the Statistics table for the staged import, review the list of duplicate objects. Use that information to rename the duplicate relationships and relationship ends in the source tool, and then reimport.
