VM application is logged off after disconnect.

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

User was logged in to a VM application from a VTAM terminal when his emulation package rebooted.
When he reconnected he had to log back in to the VM application instead of being reconnected to his VM application.

Cause

The session ended with a sense code of 80200007. This caused the NSEXIT to be driven which causes the VM application to be logged off.

Resolving the problem

VM61646 UV60191 needs to be applied. Make sure that SONSCIP=YES is coded in the VTAM definitions for the VM VTAM Appl statement. When VTAM receives the sense code 80200007, the SCIP Exit is called to set a reason code which keeps the VM application logged on. Setting SONSCIP=YES for the application will cause the SCIP exit to be driven instead of the NSEXIT or LOSTERM exit.
