Importing Rational Software Architect models into Rational Software Architect Design Manager gives a NullPointerException

Troubleshooting


Problem

When you import IBM Rational Software Architect (RSA) models into IBM Rational Software Architect Design Manager (RSA DM), the import fails with a "java.lang.NullPointerException".

Symptom

Import your RSA models into RSA DM and the following error message is displayed:

Cause

You installed the Import Engine installed as 64 bits, while the IBM Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) is installed as 32 bits.

Resolving The Problem

Install a new instance of CLM as 64 bits and perform the import again.
