Error running Versioning: SQLServerAgent Error: Request to run job refused because the job is already running from a request by user
Error message when running Versioning:
"PostDataTrans.asp Error performing function RunVersioningScripts:
SQLServerAgent Error: Request to run job Clarity Process Operating Cube (from user Domain\username) refused because the job is already running from a request by user Domain\username "
The above error message could appear when attempting to copy between versions using the Versioning feature in Clarity application.
This might be caused by a certain stored procedure that is trying to start a SQL job that is already registered in SQL Server Agent.

Diagnosing the problem
In order to diagnose this issue, follow the steps below:
- Open the Clarity Server application in browser;
- Go to Modeling menu item and select Versioning;
- Select the source and destination versions and years;
- Observe the error message.
Resolving the problem
In order to troubleshoot this error, you should first detect the state of that SQL job.
You can manually open Activity Monitor and observe if that job is currently running or not. A database administrator might be required to perform the following steps on the database server.
- Open SQL Management Studio on the database server;
- Connect to the database engine;
- In Object Explorer, expand your server, expand SQL Server Agent;
- Right-click Job Activity Monitor;
- Click View Job Activity.
If running, you can either stop it and start it again, either wait until it finishes and then run it from your user end in Versioning.
If the job appears to ran successfully and is in the idle state, a restart of the SQL Server Agent might resolve the problem. This can be done from the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
