Uninstall required when upgrading the search portlet from OmniFind Enterprise Edition V9.1 to IBM Content Analytics with Enterprise Search V3.0

Problem(Abstract)

When upgrading from IBM OmniFind Enterprise Edition V9.1 to IBM Content Analytics with Enterprise Search V3.0, the installation script of the portlet seems to run without any error or other update messages for a long time and then eventually terminates with an error message that the installation was unsuccessful.

Resolving the problem

The difference between the standalone portal install script versus the cluster install script is that the cluster installation is designed to work when installed for the first time.

When used for upgrading, if the uninstall script is not run first, then the installation script will return back after an hour with error messages that the applications are already deployed.

To successfully install the portlet, the unistall script has to be run first and then the install script.
