WebSphere Message Broker processes and AIX SED protection

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) processes must be exempt from AIX Stack Execution Disable (SED) protection?

Answer

The following WebSphere Message Broker executable processes must be exempt from SED:

bipbroker
biphttplistener
bipservice
DataFlowEngine
mqsichangeresourcestats
mqsideploy
mqsilist
mqsimode
mqsireloadsecurity
mqsireportresourcestats
mqsiwebuseradmin

If these processes are not exempt from SED, the processes cannot be run, and their output is prevented. Commands such as mqsicreateexecutiongroup or mqsimode will time out (timeout) without giving a response.
